Diet Goal Met! Well, almost! PDF Print E-mail

When I weighed in this morning I was 230.5 and I was tickled with that because it's a maintenance of yesterday's surprising drop. Ate breakfast, did a bunch of stuff for work and then showered. After my shower I weighed in again - not sure why. But the scale said 229.5.  Can you wash off a pound of dirt?? I tried it twice and got the same result. That's a whole lot of pounds in a little bit of time. I know it's the combination of gym and good food. The biggest blessing of all of this is that I am not thinking about food. It's as if I've closed a door on the foods that used to call my name. Knowing how few calories 40 minutes on the tread mill works off - I'm not wanting to screw that up with calorie heavy treats. I think the little five pound rewards help me, too. It gives me something to work toward - instead of trying to lose 102 pounds - I just need to lose five. Feeling my size 18 jeans loosen up helps. Walking quickly up a flight of stairs without breathing heavily - without embarassment at how slow I have to go - how I have to hold onto the railing. Just simple acts like getting in and out of my car more easily.
I wanted to be at 229 by the end of January and I made it - well, almost - on the first of February. Would love to be at 219 by the end of February. That's just two hard cover books away. And lots and lots of miles and lifts at the gym.
