No sneakers but I didin't quit PDF Print E-mail

I'm not usually a quitter. I can't think of any other part of my life that I quit on other than healthy eating and exercise. And today I faced a bit of a trial. I went to work with my gym bag all set to go. Got to the gym and realized when I picked up my not heavy enough bag that I had forgotten my sneakers. In the past this would have been reason enough to turn around and go home. Not my fault - I can't exercize without my sneaks. And I thought about it - thought about just turning my car around and going home.  Instead I went into the gym and changed into my stuff and worked on all the weight machines even the ones I hadn't tried before. I did about 50 minutes of weight lifting in my socks. And when I got back in my car after not quitting I felt great. Sneakers or not I kept my promise to myself and took care of myself by working out.
229 this morning. 38 pounds gone. 13 pounds away from being half way there. I actually love keeping track of the numbers. I'm keeping a list in a journal where I've written down all the pounds from 267 to 165 (my goal weight) and every time I lose another pound I cross that number off my list. And I have little stars every five pounds indicating that it's time for another book reward. And I have dates where I reached my ten pound losses. And the date that I got rid of my size 20 jeans. A little record of my journey in big x's and dates. It's more fun to look at all of the x's than to look at all the pounds still to come. But I'm planning on xing every single one of them.
