A bit of a bump in the road PDF Print E-mail

Back up to 230 today but I really can't complain. I've had a steady downward streak the last several days and I'm sure this is not an indication of a problem. I wasn't able to go to the gym yesterday - had a really huge headache which is unusual for me and was too dizzy to drive - also unusual for me. The end result being that I sat most of the day and got almost no exercise in any form so perhaps that would account for the bump back up.
But I went today! Back on track. Long day. Work, gym, (cardio and lifts - and hey, I'm lifting heavier weights! Very proud of that) errands, dinner out, meeting, coffee after and just got home. And this would have been another type of day where I in the past would have taken care of myself by treating myself with empty calorie food. Tired? Have a cookie. Too much to do? How about some icecream. Stressed? Have a Milky Way. Instead I had my standard breakfast, packed my lunch, had a big yummy salad for dinner with shrimp in it - yum - and didn't feel the bread - didn't want to know if it was all toasty and warm and wonderful. If I don't touch it, I can convince myself that it's old and stale and not worth my time. Another thing that helps me a lot is gum. Tonight when everyone else was ordering dessert after the meeting, I popped a couple of pieces of gum and satisfied my 'oh how I wish I could chew on something' feeling.  And those enormous chocolate chip cookies and apple purses and muffins and peanut butter pie? Well, they were all old and stale, too. I'm sure they were.
So I'm taking my 230 pounds off to bed for a good long sleep and then we'll do it all over again tomorrow. Without the treats.
