Hard at work at the gym PDF Print E-mail

213 this morning! Nice surprise. One thing that I think is working for me is to eat my carbs in the morning. I'm not much of a cereal eater - so breakfast for me is two pieces of multigrain bread with peanut butter. It really fills me up and fulfills my bread wannahaveits for the day. After that, the only carbs I have are fruits. So I had an orange for lunch - and again all that fiber in an orange is very filling. I had dinner out with friends tonight and chose a great big old cobb salad. So many different tates going on in it so it was a pretty adventure in eating.
But the best part of the day was my time at the gym. I'm hurting right now because of it - but in a good way - in a I-accomplished-something way. I've been doing 40 minutes of cardio on the treadmill at 3.5 and then toward the end I hit the incline button a couple of times and go up to 3.6. But today I walked from the beginning at 3.6 and by the end I was at 4.0 with a two on the incline. Great progress for me. Another thing I like about the gym is that the only person I am in competition with is me. I get to best my own times or levels or weights. I can't get over how much more I am able to lift. The lifting is actually my favorite part. Very empowering. I'm not interested in entering a body building contest - ever!!!! But I can feel the difference in my body - most specifically my arms. They're still flabby and bigger than they will be - but I can feel a strength in them that hasn't been there for a very long time.
14 pounds to Onederland.
