Went almost seven miles today. Beautiful day here. Sunny, breezy, warm. Many of the docks are coming out around the lake in preparation for winter. Not ours. We hang on till mid October at least and are usually one of the last few to take the dock and boat out of the water. Not ready to surrender to winter. With the relatively mild winters we have been having, I think I'll be able to ride - ready for it? - Gweneveere - (that can't be the correct spelling) until early December. Days will get shorter so I'll have to keep track of the sunlight - but I think by adding layers of clothing, I can ride till the snow starts. Drove around the lake today and took a clipboard with me so that I could record landmarks and mileage for goal setting. It's 18.5 around so definitely doable. I biked 3.5 out today, so I'll just keep increasing that. When I get to nine miles out - then I'll just keep going and make it all the way around the lake. Which is a much better goal than worrying about the god damn scale. If I eat well and ride Gwenevere daily - or at least frequently - the numbers should take care of themselves. And riding that bike makes me feel like a kid again - and that's got to be good for my health! Similar Posts |
