I read about weight loss all the time -looking for that quick cure I guess. But in all that reading there are a few themes that repeat themselves. One, of course, is that the way to do this is to eat less and move more. Yea, yea, yea. But the one I want to focus on is about journaling. Most weight loss researchers will tell you that one of the ways to guarantee weight loss is to journal every day including in your daily journal what you eat and what exercise you accomplish. So starting today, along with my thoughts on the process, I'll also inlcude what I eat. The good, the bad and the ugly. And what I weigh. Owning up to those numbers - and they are way too high - will hopefully help me step out of the denial I seem to have been hiding in for years. I'm going to weigh in once a week - if I do it more often than than I find that I get a little bit crazy with it. Weighing in every morning, then that night, comparing the numbers. Clothes on, clothes off. So once a week will hopefully keep it a bit saner. Sunday will be my day - so yesterday I weighed in at 257 - exactly ten pounds down, one tenth of the way there. Next weigh in: November 23.
Today's food: (S - snack)
B: banana, multi-grain bread one slice with a bit of p-nut butter
S: 1/4 cup of cashews
L: skipped it - no time - bad idea
S: raspberries
D: omelet with cheese and multigrain bread

Tomorrow - no skipping lunch. I know I have to eat frequently to keep my metabolism revved so no more skipping meals.
Exercise: none. Really not doing well here. Thinking about joining a gym. Worried about not going and wasting money.  At least a long walk tomorrow.
