Reflection PDF Print E-mail

Have you ever caught your reflection in a mirror when you didn't know you would? All of a sudden, there you are. It happened today in Wall Mart. I was busy pushing my cart through crowded aisles looking for stocking stuffers and blam! This woman in jeans and a quilted vest showed up just to the right of me. The vest was open so you could see the second stomach bump hanging out above her waist. And the rear view? Big butt sort of melting into big thighs. No definition. I know there are names for all sorts of fat areas - saddle bags, muffin top - but I'm not sure what you call the butt/thigh-all-in-one-big-lump-thing. And it took just a second to realize that that overweight woman - that fat woman - was me.
I remember when my butt sort of tucked under before my thighs began. Definition. Apparently I have lost my definition in that area. Muscles are meant to define body parts - biceps, abs, calves, butt. But when they are frosted with heavy layers of fat they are no longer able to do their job. Everything becomes mushy.
But that's not the ony place I've lost my definition. I need a food definition - a description of what I plan to eat. And an exercise definition - when I plan to move. And a life definition - how I plan to live the rest of my time.  Right now that plan or vision is a bit mushy, too. But every day that I eat well and move, the vision becomes clear revealing the definition.
I look forward to a better reflection.
