Joined the gym today. Walked right in and told a very nice woman that I wanted to join. The place is brand spanking new so all the machines are also new - the treadmill has a dash board that looks like a jet airplane! Lots of buttons and lights. You get your own tv screen, a port for your ipod - very cool. Hardly anyone there when I got there around 3. Filled up as I stayed and did my workout. Just did the treadmill today - walked for two miles. A pretty good start for my first day back moving my butt. And the best part? All the things I was worried about didn't happen. Noone laughed at me or looked at me funny. Everyone was busy doing their own workout. And surprise! A woman that I know from work also belongs and we're going to see how many days we can go to the gym at the same time. Which makes it so much more fun and will make me accountable. It's funny - we can break our promises to ourselves but heaven forbid we break a promise to a friend. So if I'm making excuses to myself about why I shouldn't go - I know I'll go if she's expecting me.  I felt good on the treadmill - hot, sweaty, a little shakey after a while and a bit dizzy when I stopped - but overall - good. Like I had accomplished something. And, I'm going back again tomorrow even if I'm sore. So, I've kicked the sugar and gotten back in the gym. I've lost 30 of the 102 pounds I plan to lose. Do I sound like I'm bragging? Not meaning to - just proud of myself today. 236.5 this morning.
